Bane

Bane first appeared as a competitor in the MME tournament. Bane kidnapped Holden in order to force him to return his One Direction 2589X reunion concert shirt. The two fight in the final battle of the tournament. During this battle, Bane reveals that Holden's entire universe takes place in the head of Mr. Bernard Edmonds. Holden reacts violently, but it is all a trick because he already knew.

After Bane's death, his body is looted by Holden. Holden recovers a coin where both sides are head. This becomes a powerful plot device later in the series.
